Coppertop has been a Medina County fixture since 1963 — eighteen public holes on rolling land, twenty-five minutes south of Cleveland. Today it's run by three Brunswick locals and a small staff who treat the course, the kitchen, and your day like their own.
Brunswick residents Greg Clement, Eric Engelke, and Jim Maclellan operate one of the area's top public golf courses and event centers. They came together to take on the challenge of running Coppertop with a clear shared goal — make it a destination Medina County is proud of, while keeping the public golf experience approachable and affordable.
Greg brings the experience of running Mapleside Farms — another Brunswick landmark his family has owned for years. He sees a lot of the same character in Coppertop: a place rooted in the community, a property that gets better with hands-on attention, and a venue that hosts the moments people remember. Eric and Jim's construction background shapes ongoing course improvements — the kind of work that doesn't make a press release but that you feel under your spikes.
Together, they've focused on making Coppertop a premier wedding and event venue in Northeast Ohio while keeping public golf at the heart of the operation. Same course you've always played, with the kind of upkeep you'd expect from owners who treat it like home.
